Вчора, 13 квітня, 12-річна Яна Степаненко пробігла свій перший Бостонський марафон довжиною. Дівчина здолала дистанцію в п'ять кілометрів.
8 квітня 2022 року внаслідок ракетного удару росіян по залізничному вокзалу в Краматорську Яна втратила обидві ноги. Перші протези для ходьби й бігу Яна отримала у США. Після року реабілітації за кордоном вона повернулася до України. Згодом дівчина вперше взяла участь у львівському півмарафоні.
У пресслужбі Першого ТМО Львова повідомили, що забіг — благодійний: "12-річна амбасадорка Центру UNBROKEN здолала одну з дистанцій Бостонського марафону і показала світу, що Україна - незламна!

Метою її забігу став збір на спортивний протез для військовослужбовця Олександра Рясного, який втратив ногу при обороні Запоріжжя. Українці Флориди в рамках цієї акції зібрали на протезування бійців ЗСУ майже $10 000.
