Інформацію компанія видобуває з джерел, які "зливають" чужі паролі до найрізноманітніших платформ в інтернеті. У 2015 році SplashData проаналізувала 2 млн різних паролів, порівнявши результати з 2014 роком.

Першу і другу сходинку, як і в попередньому році, зайняли паролі "123456" і "password". На третє місце піднявся цифровий набір "12345678", змістивши більш простий "12345". Знаменитий "qwerty" також піднявся на одну сходинку, зайнявши четверте місце.

Що стосується "осмислених" паролів, то назви видів спорту ("football" і "baseball") залишаються настільки ж популярні.

Також серед "новачків" у списку з'явилися паролі "solo" і "starwars", недвозначно відсилають до виходу продовження кіносаги "Зоряні війни". Вони зайняли 23 і 25 місця топа відповідно.
