Британська корпорація ВВС виграла справу проти російського телеканалу Russia Today за звинуваченням в інсценуванні сюжету.

Про це повідомляє сайт ВВС.

Зокрема Russia Today у своїй програмі The Truthseeker ("Правдолюбець") звинуватив ВВС в тому, що британський телеканал інсценував хімічну атаку в Сирії та піддав цифровій обробці слова одного з інтерв'юерів.

У відповідь британська корпорація поскаржилася регулятору Ofcom, заявивши, про "неймовірно серйозні звинувачення, які вразили "в саме серце" зобов'язання ВВС щодо точності та неупередженості".

Розглянувши справу, регулятор постановив, що вказана програма Russia Today дійсно "вводить в оману" . Окрім того Ofcom звинуватив Russia Today  в тому, що канал "несправедливо обійшовся" з ВВС, не давши змогу відповісти на звинувачення до виходу програми в ефір.

Також британський регулятор знайшов порушення ще в одному з випусків програми російського телеканалу, який розповідав про "геноцид в Східній Україні та стверджував, що український уряд навмисно бомбить мирних жителів у східній частині країни, вбиває та піддає тортурам журналістів та розпинає немовлят".

Згідно з рішенням Ofcom, цей випуск програми є також "незбалансованим та необ'єктивним".

Як наслідок, програму The Truthseeker було скасовано, а всі попередні випуски вилучені з вебсайту.

Нагадаємо, раніше повідомлялося, що британський банк заблокував рекламні доходи Russia Today в Британії.
