 Британський канал ITV розкритикував BBC за купівлю прав на показ серіалу Suits, де одну з ролей зіграла Меган Маркл. Про це пише Telegraph. 

Керівник ITV Кевін Лайго поскаржився британському медіарегулятору Ofcom , що корпорація BBC неправильно витрачає великі гроші з ліцензійних зборів на американські серіали і водночас розповідає про скорочення своїх витрат.

 Лайго обурило, що ВВС заплатила більше від ITV за серіал із герцогинею Сассекською

Раніше ITV повідомила комітету з питань культури, медіа та спорту, що BBC «не можна дозволяти купувати вже створений контент (або формат, який уже існує на іншій території), якщо інший комерційний конкурент готовий придбати цей контент або формат.

 BBC відповіла на закиди ITV так:  «Наші витрати на придбання залишаються дуже малими порівняно з нашим загальним бюджетом, де ми є найбільшим виробником створених програм у Великобританії.»
