Сім’я 24-річної фіксерки та журналістки Олександри Кувшинової, яка загинула у березні 2022 року, судитиметься з американською телекомпанією Fox News. Позов до Верховного суду штату Нью-Йорк подали батьки дівчини та Шейн Томсон, радник з питань безпеки британської охоронної агенції SEPAR, яка на той час працювала за контрактом з Fox News. Про це повідомило видання Business Insider.

Телекомпанію звинувачають у недбалості, оскільки вона відправила в зону активних бойових дій команду журналістів, які працювали за контрактом з Fox News, попри застереження українських посадовців і консультанта з питань безпеки. Батько Олександри вважає, що його дочку безпідставно піддали небезпеці.

Олександра Кувшинова та оператор Fox News П’єр Закшевський загинули 14 березня у Горенці під Києвом. Під час обстрілу також було поранено кореспондента Fox News Бенджаміна Холла, який згодом розповів про свій досвід у книзі під назвою «Врятований».

Згідно із судовим позовом, Кувшинову найняли в січні 2022 року як незалежного підрядника, щоб виконувати функції «гіда та перекладача» для команди Fox News. У документі стверджується, що наразі немає жодних доказів того, що дівчина отримала зарплату за два місяці, які вона працювала з американським мовником, як і доказів того, що її найняли відповідно до законодавства України.

Fox News опублікували заяву, в якій заявили, що продовжують оплакувати загибель Кувшинової та Закжевського, але будуть «з повагою захищатися від недостовірних тверджень в рамках цього позову».
