«У 2024 році слово «demure» пережило стрімке зростання вживання. З січня до кінця серпня використання цього терміну збільшилося майже на 1200% лише в диджитал інтернет-медіа», — йдеться на сайті словника.
«Demure» означає «стриманий, тихий або скромний», проте популярність цього слова зросла після публікації відео TikTok-блогерки Джулс Леброн на початку серпня 2024 року. Згодом її фраза «very demure, very mindful» стала мемом.
