 Московська компанія Walt Disney Studios Sony Pictures Releasing (WDSSPR), відповідальна за маркетинг і дистрибуцію в Росії фільмів, знятих двома студіями, виплатила 13,1 млн фунтів стерлінгів дивідендів через місяць після вторгнення Росії в Україну, ще 440 000 фунтів — з липня по грудень 2023 року. Гроші отримала компанія Eastern European Holdings (EEH), яка є спільною власністю Disney і підрозділу Sony Columbia Pictures.

 Дивіденди були отримані за результатами діяльності, яка відбулася до того, як студії оголосили, що припиняють свою діяльність в Росії. Жодна з компаній не веде поточної комерційної діяльності в країні, і немає жодних підстав вважати, що вони діяли неналежним чином або порушили якісь санкції.

Тим не менш, час здійснення платежу викликає незручні запитання у двох голлівудських студій.
