У вересні минулого року 93-річний Мердок оголосив, що покидає посаду голови правління компаній, які він створив, Fox Corp. і News Corp., і отримає почесний титул.

Хедж-фонд Starboard Value оприлюднив лист, адресований акціонерам газетного гіганта, власнику The Wall Street Journal і New York Post.✉️

У листі сказано:Четверо братів і сестер Мердок, які мають право голосу в Трасті, мають дуже різні погляди на світ, що в сукупності може паралізувати стратегічний напрямок Компанії; що ще важливіше, ми не впевнені, чому їхні погляди мають мати більшу вагу, ніж погляди інших акціонерів».

Невизначеність становить ризик для акціонерів, який посилюється завдяки суперголосуючим акціям сім’ї Мердок, а також поганому управлінню, яке виникає через подвійну структуру акцій». В листі пропонується скасувати структуру подвійного класу акцій.
