У опублікованій спільній заяві п’ятеро бельгійських політиків від різних партій розповіли про атаки хакерів, пов’язаних з китайською розвідкою. Про це пише EFE

«Це не була атака на якусь політичну партію чи країну окремо. Це був напад на будь-яку обрану посадову особу, яка наважиться кинути виклик режиму в Пекіні»

 Вони попросили бельгійський коаліційний уряд запровадити санкції проти хакерів групи APT31 або розпочати судове розслідування щодо іноземного втручання.

Міністр закордонних справ Бельгії Хаджа Лахбіб оголосила, що збирається викликати тимчасового повіреного у справах посольства Китаю в Бельгії.  Фахівці ФБР виявили, що його робочі акаунти були зламані ще у 2021 році.
