Суд Перу визнав, що колишній міністр внутрішніх справ країни Даніель Урресті був причетним до вбивства Уго Бустіоса, журналіста, який розслідував порушення прав людини в 1988 році. Про це повідомило BBC.

Ексміністра засудили до 12 років в'язниці. Адвокати політика заявили, що оскаржуватимуть вирок.

За постановою суду, Урресті, який на той час був офіцером військової розвідки в армії, брав участь у засідці та навмисному вбивстві Бустіоса.

Репортер тижневика Caretas Уго Бустіос був убитий у розпал конфлікту між перуанськими силами безпеки та повстанцями з маоїстського угруповання «Сяючий шлях».

Як зазначає BBC, журналіст повідомляв про порушення прав людини як повстанцями, так і армією в андському регіоні Аякучо. Як відомо, у результаті збройного конфлікту там загинули або зникли безвісти 69 тисяч людей.
