Депутати Закарпатської обласної ради на VІІІ скликання у четвер, 28 жовтня, проголосували за висловлення недовіри голові облради Олексію Петрову ("Слуга народу").

Як повідомляє Мукачево.net, перед початком сесії Петров підписав розпорядження про її перенесення на 25 листопада. Депутати відмовились підтримати таке рішення і самі розпочали сесію.

Знявши кілька питань з порядку денного, депутати утворили лічильну комісію та розпочали процес дострокового припинення повноважень голови обласної ради Петрова.

Воно було ухвалене шляхом таємного голосування. "За" проголосували 35 депутатів.

За даними "Закарпаття Онлайн", новим головою облради стане Володимир Чубірко з "Рідного Закарпаття", який уже займав цю посаду з 28 листопада 2014 по 1 грудня 2015 року.

Нагадаємо, що Петров упродовж 27 років працював у СБУ. Зокрема, очолював Департамент контррозвідки Служби безпеки України, проходив службу на посаді начальника Управління СБУ в Кіровоградській області

У 2020 році президент Володимир Зеленський призначив Петрова головою Закарпатської ОДА, але він затримався на цій посаді лише кілька місяців. На місцевих виборах у жовтні 2020 року він обрався до обласної ради від "Слуги народу" і з 7 грудня 2020 року став головою обласної ради.
