Функція AI Overviews надає користувачам інформативні анотації вгорі результатів пошуку. Із серпня 2023 року ця функція стала доступною в кількох нових країнах, а від жовтня — у понад 100, однак Україна поки не увійшла до цього списку.

 Дослідження показують, що такі анотації штучного інтелекту можуть значно знижувати видимість і трафік для видавців новин. Аналітики виявили, що у 23,7% випадків AI Overviews відтісняє органічні результати нижче, зокрема й ті, що займали першу позицію. Це ставить під загрозу прибуток видавців, які залежать від трафіку з пошукових систем.

 Хоч Google обіцяє, що AI Overviews сприятиме переходам на сайти, видавці зазначають, що у багатьох випадках ШІ-огляди не містять покликань на джерела або відкривають їх в окремих вікнах, утримуючи користувачів на платформі Google.

 Видавці занепокоєні втратою контролю над контентом, який сканує Google для генерації ШІ-відповідей, адже заблокувати ШІ від сканування без ризику для видимості сайту в пошуку практично неможливо. Тепер медійники шукають нові способи, як адаптуватися до цих змін і зберегти конкурентну перевагу, щоб не втрачати значної частини свого трафіку.

 За даними Google, AI Overviews продовжить підтримку багатьох мов і, ймовірно, поширюватиметься далі, що може вплинути на підхід до просування сайтів і SEO у глобальному масштабі.
