Подчинившись решению Высшего суда Евросоюза, компания Google начала удалять из поисковой выдачи данные, которые нарушают закон о неприкосновенности частной жизни.

Закон, который прозвали "правом быть забытым", фактически заставил поисковик ввести цензуру, которой уже подверглись статьи некоторых ведущих европейских новостных сайтов. Так, из поисковой выдачи были удалены материалы о скандалах вокруг некоторых личностей, таких как футбольные арбитры или руководителей банков.

Воспользоваться "правом быть забытым" может любой гражданин ЕС, направив с помощью специального сайта жалобу с требованием удалить ссылку на негативную информацию о себе. После удаления, ссылка становиться недоступной для жителей ЕС.
