За сюжетом серіалу, учасники гри вибирають фігури, не знаючи, що їх чекає далі. Пізніше героям видають цукрову пластину, на якій голкою потрібно видряпати обрану фігуру. Якщо учасники ламають пластину або не встигають закінчити фігуру, їх вбивають. Відпровідну пропозицію озвучено на офіційному акаунті України у Twitter.

За сюжетом серіалу, чим простіша фігура, тим легше перемогти і вижити. Єдина умова –  потрібно видряпати, щоб не програти і вижити.  Україна запропонувала Росії вирізати фігуру українського герба, яка шансів на перемогу не залишає.

«Гра в кальмара» — південнокорейський вебсеріал в жанрі виживання, пригодницького бойовика, трилера і драми. Режисером і автором сценарію став Гван Дон Хьок. Серіал, що складається з дев’яти епізодів, оповідає про групу людей, яким потрібні гроші. Вони приймають дивне запрошення взяти участь у дитячих іграх.
