Рада ЄС на рівні міністрів закордонних справ розгляне запровадження нових санкцій проти Ірану за передачу військових технологій росії. Питання мають розглянути у понеділок, 18 листопада.

Серед основних тем зустрічі — реакція на підтримку, яку росія отримує від третіх країн, зокрема Ірану та Північної Кореї. За словами посадовця, країни ЄС мають політичну домовленість щодо другого пакета санкцій проти Ірану, який передбачає обмеження через передачу балістичних ракет та інших військових технологій Москві. Також триває робота над п’ятнадцятим пакетом санкцій безпосередньо проти росії.

Очікується, що нові санкції включатимуть замороження активів і заборону на в’їзд для кількох фізичних осіб і юридичних осіб, які сприяють передачі військової техніки з Ірану до росії. 

Попередньо йдеться про одну фізичну особу та чотири компанії, серед яких — три російські судноплавні фірми і національний морський перевізник Ірану, компанія IRISL Group. Ці компанії брали участь у транспортуванні компонентів для дронів та іншого озброєння.
