Про це в інтерв'ю BILD заявив голова шведської компанії Єспер Бродін. Він розповів про «революцію в IKEA», пообіцявши зниження цін на багато видів меблів та різке збільшення швидкості її самостійного складання покупцями. Замість шурупів будуть впроваджені з'єднання, що защіпаються, схожі на конструктор Lego.

«Мы развиваем новую систему сборки нашей мебели. Нашим клиентам нужно будет меньше винтить самим. Это маленькая революция, — сказал топ-менеджер. — Сборка будет намного быстрее, примерно в два раза. <...> Сам я довольно опытен в сборке нашей мебели. На [шкаф] "Пакс" у меня уходит 40 минут, а его новую версию я собираю за 10 минут».

Первая «турбо-мебель» IKEA с ускоренным временем сборки поступит в продажу в Германии уже этим летом. Среди других нововведений Бродин упомянул увеличение числа небольших магазинов в центре крупных городов, а также доставку до небольших населённых пунктов. Кроме того, менеджер успокоил любителей шведской кухни в закусочных IKEA, заявив, что повышать цены на блюда не планируется.
