 Очільник Eurasia Group Ієн Бреммер розіслав листа своїм підписникам з повідомленням  про це. В ньому стверджується, що Маск розповів Ієну, що Путін «готовий до переговорів», але тільки якщо Крим залишиться російським, Україна прийме форму постійного нейтралітету та визнає анексію Луганська, Донецька, Херсона та Запоріжжя.

Як пише Vice Маск сказав, що путін запевнив його у досягненні цієї мети за будь-якої ціни, у тому числі шляхом застосування ядерної зброї. Тому Ілон Маск вирішив, що треба зробити все, щоб уникнути цього сценарію.

Маск начебто повідомив, що Путін підкреслив: всі цілі так званої «спецоперації» будуть досягнуті «не дивлячись ні на що», включаючи потенційний ядерний удар, якщо Україна вторгнеться в Крим.

Втім, Маск заперечує повідомлення про розмови з путіним.
