 Кабінет безпеки Ізраїлю проголосував за закриття ліванської супутникової станції новин «Аль-Маядін». Про це повідомляє The Times of Israel.

Закрити станцію запропонував міністр зв'язку Шломо Кархі. Він  заявив, що передачі «Аль-Маядіна» «слугують інтересам ворогів Ізраїлю» та завдають шкоди національній безпеці.  А сама станція має звʼязки з «Хезболлою».

Кархі також хотів закрити і «Аль – Джазіру», але участь Катару в переговорах щодо звільнення ізраїльських заручників, яких терористи ХАМАСу утримують у Секторі Гази, ускладнила зусилля щодо закриття «Аль-Джазіри» в Ізраїлі.
