Китайські університети та науково-дослідні інститути отримали чіпи штучного інтелекту Nvidia через посередників, попри те, що минулого року США розширили заборону на продаж таких технологій до Китаю.

Згідно з тендерними документами, які перевірило агентство Reuters, 10 китайських компаній придбали передові чіпи Nvidia, вбудовані в серверні продукти Super Micro Computer Inc, Dell Technologies і тайванської Gigabyte Technology Co Ltd після того, як 17 листопада США розширили ембарго, поширивши його на більшу кількість чіпів і країн, що підпадають під правила ліцензування.

Зокрема, сервери містили одні з найсучасніших мікросхем Nvidia, згідно з раніше не повідомленими тендерами, проведеними в період з 20 листопада по 28 лютого минулого року. Хоча США забороняють Nvidia та її партнерам продавати сучасні чіпи до Китаю, в тому числі через третіх осіб, купівля-продаж цих чіпів не є незаконною в Китаї.

Виробники серверів заявили, що вони дотримуються чинного законодавства та проведуть подальше розслідування.
