Китайська влада розглядає можливість продажу американського підрозділу платформи TikTok мільярдеру та власнику соцмережі X Ілону Маску. Про це повідомляє Bloomberg із посиланням на поінформованих співрозмовників.

Відповідно до одного сценарію, який обговорював китайський уряд, соцмережа X Маска візьме під контроль TikTok у США і разом керуватиме бізнесом.

Маючи понад 170 мільйонів користувачів у США, TikTok може підтримати зусилля X із залучення рекламодавців. Як відомо, Маск також заснував окрему компанію зі штучного інтелекту xAI, яка могла б отримати вигоду від величезних обсягів даних, які генерує TikTok.

Китайські офіційні особи ще не досягли «консенсусу щодо того, як діяти далі, і їхні обговорення все ще є попередніми». Водночас, за словами джерел видання, у Пекіні все ще вважають за краще, щоб TikTok залишався у власності материнської компанії ByteDance Ltd.

Як повідомлялось, на початку грудня цього року американський апеляційний суд підтвердив закон про примусовий продаж TikTok. Нині компанія ByteDance Ltd оскаржує ухвалений Палатою представників законопроєкт щодо заборони платформи у США, подавши апеляцію до Верховного суду країни.

У грудні 2025 року новообраний президент США Дональд Трамп звернувся до Верховного суду США з проханням відкласти заборону тіктоку, яка має набрати чинності 19 січня, за день до його інавгурації.
