Мобільний оператор "Київстар" підписав угоду з компанією Starlink, щоб розпочати впровадження в Україні супутникового зв'язку Direct to Cell. У компанії цю технологію називають революційною.

Завдяки цій угоді Україна має стати однією з перших країн, яка матиме доступ до послуги Starlink Direct to Cell від Starlink. Завдяки їй абоненти "Київстар" зможуть мати безперебійний зв'язок навіть, коли наземна мережа не здатна обслуговувати певну територію. Нова технологія також має підвищити стійкість національної інфраструктури зв'язку.

Наша співпраця зі Starlink стане революційною у досягненні стратегічної мети — "4G всюди", — каже СЕО "Київстар" Олександр Комаров.

Супутники Starlink з функцією Direct to Cell мають на борту вдосконалений модем eNodeB, який працює як стільникова вежа в космосі, та інтегрує смартфон у мобільну мережу. Завдяки цьому Direct to Cell забезпечує зв'язок навіть у найвіддаленіших районах, де немає звичайного мобільного покриття.

Технологія працює з будь-якими LTE-телефонами усюди, де видно небо. При цьому користувачам не потрібно вносити зміни в налаштування, прошивку або встановлювати спеціальні додатки на смартфон.

Нагадаємо, Нацбанк випустив пам'ятну монету, яку присвятив досягненням України у сфері цифрових технологій та інновацій. Монета має незвичну квадратну форму та виготовлена зі срібла 999 проби.
