Південнокорейська письменниця Хан Канг зробила заяву після того, як стала лауреаткою Нобелівської премії з літератури. Вона подякувала за нагороду, але відмовилась від прес-конференцій та коментарів ЗМІ.
"Я була здивована, коли вперше отримала новину про свою нагороду... Я також була приголомшена теплими вітаннями, які хлинули великою хвилею. Хочу висловити глибоку подяку", - сказала Хан Канг.
Водночас батько письменниці розповів, що вона вирішила не проводити прес-конференцію з нагоди нагородження. Таким чином, за словами батька, Хан Канг вирішила висловити повагу тим, хто страждає від поточних глобальних конфліктів, в тому числі від війни Росії проти України.
Крім того, Хан Канг не братиме участі в жодних окремих інтерв’ю зі ЗМІ, але поділиться своїми думками у промові у Стокгольмі 10 грудня під час церемонії нагородження.
Нагадаємо, Хан Канг стала першою азійською жінкою-лауреатом у галузі літератури. Нобелівську премію вона отримала за "насичену поетичну прозу, яка протистоїть історичним травмам і викриває крихкість людського життя".
У 2016 році Хан Канг стала лауреаткою міжнародної Букерівської премії за роман "Вегетаріанка". Твір розповідає про рішучу відмову жінки від м'ясних продуктів та про руйнівні наслідки такого рішення.
