 Експерти із захисту дітей заявили, що зміни в соцмережі та скорочення команд, які займаються безпековими питаннями, зробили сервіс більш небезпечним для дітей.

 The Telegraph зафіксував численні випадки існування спільнот Х з тисячами користувачів, присвячених самоушкодженню, суїциду та розладам харчової поведінки, доступ до яких можна було отримати через дитячі акаунти. У групах часто демонструвалися графічні зображення самоушкодження.

Дані Національного центру США з розшуку зниклих та експлуатованих дітей (NCMEC) свідчать про майже дев'ятикратне зростання кількості повідомлень про публікацію в Х матеріалів із зображенням сексуального насильства. Кількість повідомлень зросла з 98 050 у 2022 році до 870 503 у 2023 році. Крім цього, компанія стала довше реагувати на звіти. Після зміни назви на X у квітні 2023 року вона в середньому витрачала два дні, аби вжити заходів.
