 WSJ пише, що MSNBC та CNN борються за те, щоб вилізти з рейтингової ями після виборів у США, поки Fox News залишається лідером. Це падіння набагато гірше, ніж те, що сталося минулого разу, коли Трамп переміг у 2016 році.

 За даними компанії Nielsen, наступного дня після виборів аудиторія MSNBC становила 603 000 глядачів у прайм-тайм — це більш ніж удвічі менше, ніж середній показник мережі з початку року до виборів. Аудиторія CNN впала на 46% — до 401 000 глядачів. Тим часом, Fox News зріс на 12% — приблизно на 2,7 млн глядачів.

Джоанна Данавей, наукова директорка Інституту демократії, журналістики та громадянства Сиракузького університету, заявила, що демократи і республіканці стають безправними у відносинах з медіа та суспільством, коли їхні кандидати програють. 

 Наприклад, після перемоги Байдена у 2020 році глядацька аудиторія Fox News у прайм-тайм впала на 6%. Після перемоги Барака Обами на виборах у 2012 році частка глядачів Fox News у прайм-тайм знизилася на 13%.
