Ярослав  Шапочка загинув ще в березні 2023-го на Соледарському напрямку, проте досі офіційно вважався зниклим безвісти.

Ярослав Шапочка — киянин, журналіст, митець, громадський активіст, учасник Помаранчевої революції та Революції Гідності. Закінчив Інститут журналістики Київського університету Шевченка, надалі опанував фах режисера і фотографа.

З перших днів широкомасштабної війни став до лав київської бригади ТрО. Служив у 2-й стрілецькій роті 207-го окремого батальйону територіальної оборони (Шевченківського району Києва) 241-ї окремої бригади ТрО Збройних сил України.

Ярославу Шапочці було 50 років. У нього залишилися дружина й донька.
