Українська льотчиця та народний депутат Надія Савченко, яку незаконно утримують в Росії, отримала нагороду «За Свободу» від Атлантичної Ради.

Як повідомляє прес-служба ВО «Батьківщини», нагороду вручив сестрі Надії Вірі Савченко сенатор Джін Шахін під час Глобального Форуму у Вроцлаві.

«Надія не здалася і не зламалася. Вона обіцяла продовжувати боротьбу за власну свободу та свободу нашої держави до останнього подиху. Я щиро вдячна всім вам за цю нагороду, за те, що ви пам‘ятаєте про Надю і докладаєте зусиль для її звільнення», – наголосила Віра Савченко під час церемонії.

Нагородою «За Свободу» Атлантична Рада відзначає надзвичайних особистостей та організації, які виборюють свободу по всьому світові. Нагороду було започатковано у 2009 році у 20-ту річницю падіння Берлінського муру.
