Борець греко-римського стилю Жан Беленюк завоював золоту медаль на Літніх Олімпійських іграх в Токіо.

У фінальному поєдинку вагової категорії до 87 кг нардеп "Слуги народу" переміг угорського борця Віктора Лорінча.

В середині першого раунду рефері дав очко угорцю і поставив українця в партер. Але Лорінч не зміг виконати результативну атаку.

На четвертій хвилині вже наш боєць отримав очко і суддя поставив угорця в партер. Беленюк провів дві результативні атаки і заробив чотири очки.

Підсумковий рахунок 5:1 на користь нашого борця.

На шляху до фіналу Беленюк переміг серба Зурабі Датунашвілі (3:1), алжирця Бахіра Сіда Азару (1:1, остання результативна дія) і хорвата Івана Хуклека (7:1).

Це друга медаль Беленюка на Олімпіадах. Нагадаємо, в Ріо Жан був другим.
