Німеччина виступає проти того, щоб вилучати заморожені активи рф на відновлення і військову підтримку України — The Wall Street Journal.

Німеччина побоюється провокацій нових позовів проти німців за злочини Другої світової війни, якщо активи рф вилучать, а не залишать замороженими. 

Берлін вважає, що активи росії потрібно залишити недоторканними, щоб їх можна було використати як важіль у будь-яких переговорах для закінчення війни і спонукання рф до поступок частини захоплених українських територій.

Ще одним мотивом відмови Берліна від арешту активів може бути те, що він захищає німецькі компанії, які все ще працюють у росії, від заходів у відповідь.

Країни G7 дедалі більше схиляються до передачі частини російських активів Україні. Однак позиція Німеччини може стати на заваді.
