Пташенята африканського пінгвіна, що знаходиться під загрозою зникнення, з’явилися на світ в одному з британських зоопарків. Їх назвали Ноелом та Ліамом — на честь братів Ґаллагер, учасників рок-гурту Oasis.

Африканські пінгвіни — це вид на межі зникнення. В дикій природі залишилося лише близько 40 тис. особин. 

Ліам і Ноел стали першими пташенятами, які цього року вилупилися в зоопарку Хартфордшира. Співробітників зоопарку на подібні імена надихнули завзяті та норовливі характери малюків, які вже виявляють самостійність.

У зоопарку Хартфордшира повідомили, що дитинчата африканських пінгвінів вилупилися e серпні і “вже виказують ознаки незалежності, вибираючись із гнізда раніше, ніж це прийнято у представників їхнього виду”.

“Такий ранній розвиток свідчить про їхнє здоров’я”, — йдеться в прес-релізі зоопарку.

У зоопарку заявили, що “життєрадісні та енергійні” Ноель та Ліам заслужили на свої прізвиська – їх прозвали “маленькими жахастиками”
