Школи журналістики в Пакистані заявляють про низький кількість абітурієнтів, повідомляє DW.

"Дев'ять викладачів на 12 студентів на факультеті журналістики університету Хушал Хан Хаттак Карак достатньо, щоб показати гостроту кризи", - повідомив DW один із викладачів.

 У Пакистані є близько 50 шкіл журналістики, більшість з яких були створені тодішнім президентом Пакистану генералом Первезом Мушаррафом. Він лібералізував медіа-сектор країни у 2002 році. Це створило попит на журналістів, але зараз ситуація змінилася.

Молодь відвертають від професії відсутність вакансій, низька зарплата і підвищений рівень небезпеки.

Аамір Гаурі, редактор газети The News International повідомив, що багато власників закрили свої телевізійні станції через відсутність реклами і підтримки з боку держави.
