Парламент Молдови не затвердив у понеділок нового уряду країни, який мав очолити Йон Стурза, через те, що на засідання з’явилися тільки 47 депутатів зі 101 і для початку сесійного засідання не було кворуму.

Таким чином, затвердження не відбулося, і тепер президент країни Ніколає Тімофті має призначити нову кандидатуру на посаду прем’єр-міністра для формування уряду. Він має право повторно висунути ту саму особу, але лідери парламентських партій заявили, що запропонують президентові іншого кандидата.

Останній термін для нової спроби створити уряд – 14 січня. Не пізніше ніж цього дня президент має призначити кандидата на прем’єра з тим, щоб не пізніше ніж 29 січня парламент проголосував за довіру його урядові. Того дня збігає тримісячний термін для формування уряду, і, якщо його не буде створено, президент буде зобов’язаний розпустити парламент і призначити позачергові вибори.

Іще з кінця жовтня в Молдові працює тимчасовий уряд. Це сталося після того, як попередній проєвропейський уряд був відправлений у відставку після корупційного скандалу.
