 Міністерство оборони США вдвічі збільшило кількість медіа, які мають звільнити свої робочі місця у Пентагоні. Тепер CNN, The Washington Post, The Hill та The War Zone також приєднуються до списку видань, які втратять свої офіси. Це рішення є частиною нової «щорічної програми ротації медіа».  

Минулого тижня аналогічне повідомлення отримали The New York Times, NBC News, Politico та National Public Radio. Вони залишаться членами прескорпусу Пентагону, але більше не матимуть окремих приміщень у будівлі.  

 На їх місце прийдуть нові видання, серед яких New York Post, Breitbart, The Washington Examiner, Free Press, Daily Caller, Newsmax, Huffington Post та One America News Network. Більшість із них мають репутацію консервативних або прихильних до президента Дональда Трампа, який повернувся до влади 20 січня.  

Представники Пентагонського пресасоціації заявили, що «шоковані і глибоко розчаровані» таким рішенням. Вони вбачають у ньому ризики для незалежного висвітлення військової політики США.  

Загалом понад два десятки ЗМІ мають постійний доступ до Пентагону. Однак нова політика може змінити баланс між ліберальними та консервативними виданнями, що викликає занепокоєння щодо об’єктивності інформаційного простору.
