Британський актор Бернард Гілл, найбільш відомий за ролями у фільмах «Титанік» і «Володар перснів», помер у віці 79 років. Про це пише BBC.

Він помер рано-вранці в неділю, підтвердив його агент Лу Коулсон.

Проривною роллю Гілла стала драма BBC «Хлопці з чорного району» 1982 року, де він зіграв Йоссера Гʼюза, персонажа, який намагався — і часто зазнавав невдачі — впоратися з безробіттям у Ліверпулі.

Гілл також зіграв капітана Едварда Сміта у фільмі «Титанік» 1997 року, який отримав премію «Оскар». Іншою відомою роллю актора була роль короля Теодена в трилогії «Володар перснів».

 

Ще одна памʼятна роль Гілла — у драматичному серіалі «Вовчий зал» 2015 року, знятому за мотивами книги Гіларі Мантел про двір Генріха VIII. Гілл зіграв герцога Норфолка — дядька Анни Болейн.

Серед інших ролей у його багаторічній карʼєрі — серіал «Я, Клавдій» 1976 року, фільми «Ганді» 1982 року, «Ширлі Валентайн» 1989 року, «Цар скорпіонів» 2002 року та «Валькірія» 2008 року з Томом Крузом.
