Спершу Анатолій Васянович він працював актором у Київському театрі ім. І. Франка, а з 1976 року прийшов на телебачення. Свою діяльність починав як диктор інформаційної програми "Вісті". Також був ведучим багатьох молодіжних літературних і музичних програм, зокрема "День за днем", "Новини", "Актуальна камера", дитячу програму "Мультфільм на замовлення", розважальну "Пісня скликає друзів". 

Окрім того, Васянович він телевізійні концерти та записував для глядачів ТРК "Київ" ролики, в яких навчав правильної української мови, а також викладав спецкурс для дикторів в Укртелерадіопресінституті, – пише Суспільне.
