Євросоюз офіційно визнав порносайти Xvideos, Pornhub і Stripchat надзвичайно великими онлайн-платформами — це означає, щомісяця їх в середньому переглядає понад 45 мільйонів користувачів. Отже тепер відповідно до Закону про цифрові послуги ЄС (DSA) вони матимуть нові зобовʼязання щодо перевірки віку користувачів і видалення незаконного контенту зі своїх платформ.

Уже з лютого 2024 року сайти Xvideos, Pornhub і Stripchat повинні дотримуватися низки обмежень, насамперед впровадити суворіший контроль за віком користувачів. Їх зобовʼяжуть видаляти незаконний контент — наприклад, відео, зняті без згоди, і проводити зовнішні аудити на предмет відповідності правилам. Якщо вони не дотримуватимуться нових правил ЄС, їм загрожує штраф на суму 6% від загального доходу.
 

Закон про цифрові послуги ЄС набув чинності 25 серпня. Він має запобігти поширенню шкідливого контенту, заборонити або обмежити певні методи таргетування користувачів. Платформи також зобовʼязані обмінюватися деякими внутрішніми даними з регуляторами і повʼязаними з ними науковцями.

Нещодавно Європейський Союз розпочав розслідування щодо платформи X (колишній Twitter) Євросоюз розпочав розслідування щодо соцмережі X (Twitter) через ймовірне порушення закону про цифрові послуги. Розслідування щодо Х буде першим розслідуванням після ухвалення закону. Воно зосередиться на заходах, вжитих X для підвищення прозорості платформи, і на дизайні інтерфейсу користувача, який може вводити в оману.
