Президент росії володимир путін відмовився їхати на саміт БРІКС у Південно-Африканську республіку.

Раніше міжнародна спільнота  закликала керівництво ПАР арештувати путіна, коли той прибуде. На що президент ПАР Сиріл Рамафоса зробив суперечливу заяву, що не зможе це зробити, бо росія сприйме такий крок як оголошення війни. Про це він говорив під час засідання суду у ПАР, який розглядав питання надання путіну імунітету на час саміту.    

Зрештою, у ПАР змогли переконати путіна не їхати на саміт. Замість нього поїде голова російського мзс сергій лавров.
