Російська влада конфіскувала у компанії Google понад 100 мільйонів доларів. Ці кошти, як свідчать судові документи, Кремль витратив на фінансування пропаганди війни проти України. Про це повідомляє The Telegraph.
За інформацією видання, у 2022 році судові пристави забрали кошти з російських рахунків Google, що призвело до банкрутства російського підрозділу компанії. Вилучені гроші були передані російським телеканалам, таким як RT і «Царьград ТВ» для підтримки війни проти України.
Google заявив, що сума, яку компанія повинна була виплатити за судовим рішенням, була значно меншою за ту, яку вилучили росіяни. Тож компанія у відповідь подала позови проти RT, «Царьград ТВ» та NFPT у США та Великій Британії, а також домагається блокування прав цих мовників переслідувати її активи в інших країнах.
Російські суди встановили, що Google заборгувала «Царьград ТВ» 32,8 млрд рублів (273 млн фунтів стерлінгів), однак сума з урахуванням щоденних штрафів може значно зрости.
Компанія Google звинувачує російські суди в застосуванні довільних санкцій та штрафів у спробі покарати компанію за дотримання міжнародних санкцій проти Росії.
