Тимчасові обмеження стосуються експорту збагаченого урану до США або за контрактами,  укладеними з особами, зареєстрованими в юрисдикції США.  

Виняток – постачання за разовими ліцензіями.  

Рішення ухвалене за вказівкою путіна у відповідь на американське ембарго на російську уранову продукцію з 2024 до 2027 років і повну заборону з 2028 року.  

росія була найбільшим постачальником збагаченого урану до США, забезпечуючи 27% поставок на комерційні реактори у 2023 році.  

Річний обсяг імпорту російського урану до США раніше оцінювався приблизно в $1 мільярд.
