Американська медіакомпанія, пов’язана з шістьма впливовими консервативними діячами, таємно фінансувалася співробітниками російських державних ЗМІ для випуску англомовних відео, компліментарних стосовно Кремля. Серед згаданих впливових осіб — Тім Пул, Дейв Рубін і Бенні Джонсон. Про це йдеться у відповідному обвинувальному акті, повідомляє АР в середу, 5 вересня.

Мін’юст США не повідомив про будь-які правопорушення з боку цих осіб, проте деякі з них, за даними відомства, надали неправдиву інформацію про джерело фінансування компанії.

Міністерство звинувачує двох співробітників російської державної медіа-компанії RT у тому, що вони передали майже 10 мільйонів доларів компанії для створення контенту, «дружнього» до росії.

Зазначається, що обвинувачені Костянтин Калашников і Олена Афанасьєва, яких звинувачують у змові з метою відмивання грошей і порушенні закону про реєстрацію іноземних агентів, перебувають на волі.
