 Вислів обрали за результатами громадського голосування та після аналізу лінгвістичних даних. Словосполучення означає:Передбачуване погіршення психічного або інтелектуального стану людини, особливо в результаті надмірного споживання матеріалів (особливо онлайн-контенту), які вважаються тривіальними або безпроблемними. Також: щось, що характеризується як таке, що може призвести до такого погіршення.

Експерти наголошують, що упродовж 2023-2024 років частота використання цього терміну зросла на 230%.
