Депутати Полтавської обласної ради нарешті визначилися – 46 депутатів проголосували за кандидатуру Олександра Біленького, представника фракції «БПП «Солідарність». Отож, саме він став головою обласної ради.
«Першим своїм завданням вважаю консолідацію всіх депутатських фракцій. Оскільки їх 10, робота попереду велика. Але заради Полтавщини та її жителів ми знайдемо спільну мову.Що ж до заступників, то для початку нехай їх буде два. Наразі триває перехідний період від старої конфігурації облради до нової, тож два заступники суттєводопоможуть консолідувати обласну раду», — сказав голова Полтавської обласної ради Олександр Біленький.
З власних джерел стало відомо, що за Олександра Біленького голосували: «Солідарність», «Партія простих людей», «Відродження», «Батьківщина» і «Свобода». А от представники Радикальної партії Олега Ляшка в обласній раді всією фракцією проголосувала проти обрання Олександра Біленького головою обласної ради хоча й обіцяли підтримку.
