Агентство США з глобальних медіа (USAGM) вирішило відкликати своє рішення про скасування гранту для «Радіо Вільна Європа» / «Радіо Свобода».

Про це йдеться в листі, підписаному старшою радницею керівника USAGM Кері Лейк.

Відновлення фінансування відбулося на підставі рішення Федерального окружного суду у Вашингтоні, який 26 березня став на бік «Радіо Свобода». Мовник оскаржував припинення фінансування.

У документі зазначається, що попереднє рішення про скасування гранту анулюють, а грантова угода знову набуває чинності. Лейк уточнила, що право скасування фінансування в майбутньому USAGM залишило за собою. Частина гранту, що залишилася, розрахована до 30 вересня 2025 року.

«Радіо Вільна Європа» / «Радіо Свобода» — це незалежна медіакорпорація, що існує з 1953 року. Її роботу фінансують за рахунок коштів, що виділяє Конгрес США через Агентство з глобальних медіа (USAGM). «Радіо Свобода» мовить понад 20 мовами, а головною метою проголошують незалежну журналістику, розслідування й підтримку демократії.
