США запропонували Мадуро відмовитися від влади в обмін на зняття звинувачень, - The Wall Street Journal.

Влада США в ході таємних переговорів з Венесуелою пропонує переобраному президенту Ніколасу Мадуро амністію за висунутими проти нього звинуваченнями на його відмову від влади.  

Після виборів, що відбулися наприкінці липня 2024 року, Штати визнали переможцем голосування не чинного президента Мадуро, а кандидата від опозиції.

Один із джерел видання заявив, що США «виклали все на стіл», щоб переконати Мадуро піти до закінчення його терміну в січні.

У березні 2020 року США звинуватили президента Венесуели та інших високопосадовців країни в наркотероризмі. Американська влада також пропонувала нагороду в $15 млн за інформацію, яка допоможе заарештувати Мадуро.
