seven39 рекламує себе як платформу, яка не обіцяє нескінченного скролінгу чи FOMO. На сайті стверджується, що соціальні медіа краще, коли всі разом онлайн, і обіцяє три години насолоди, поки соцмережа відкрита.

Як повідомляє The Verge, сайт має єдину хронологічну стрічку і нагадує клон Twitter. Користувачі можуть створювати дописи довжиною до 200 символів, а також ставити лайки та відповідати на інші дописи. Користувачі також можуть завантажувати зображення.

На даний момент тут немає репостів і цитат. Дописи також, здавалося б, типові: самопредставлення, меми та фотографії домашніх тварин.

Творець seven39, Марк Лайонс, каже, що соцмережа була розроблена, щоб мати ретро-відчуття. Його мета полягала в тому, щоб дослідити способи спілкування в Інтернеті до ери смартфонів. 

Зараз соцмережа налічує приблизно 3000 користувачів, що в жодному разі не є значною спільнотою. Звичайно, різниця в часі є обмежуючим фактором, оскільки не кожен зможе вільно перебувати на сайті в години його роботи.
