Американський штат Техас подав до суду на соціальну платформу TikTok, звинувативши її у порушенні конфіденційності дітей та законів штату через передачу особистих даних дітей без згоди їхніх батьків або законних опікунів.

Позов, поданий генеральним прокурором Техасу Кеном Пакстоном, вимагає накладення заборони та штрафів у розмірі до 10 000 доларів за кожне порушення Закону штату про гарантування безпеки дітей в інтернеті за допомогою розширення прав батьків, відомого як SCOPE Act.

Пакстон заявив, що TikTok, який належить китайській компанії ByteDance, не надає інструментів для обмеження конфіденційності та налаштувань облікових записів дітей, дозволяючи передачу інформації навіть з облікових записів, встановлених як «приватні». Також, за словами прокурора, платформа дозволяє таргетовану рекламу для дітей.

Генеральний прокурор подав позов до суду штату округу Галвестон, штат Техас. TikTok поки що не надав коментарів з цього приводу.
