 Американський телеканал  CBS News закрив своє бюро в Токіо, щоб скоротити витрати. 

 Бюро працювало в Японії понад 50 років. Його закриття може пргіршити висвітлення новин із Китаю. Про це стало відомо The New York Post.

Скорочення відбулося у рамках масового звільнення майже 800 працівників.

«CBS News і надалі матиме команду в Азії, включаючи ефірного кореспондента», — сказав представник каналу. 

Однак, повноцінного бюро, за даними NYT, у CBS News в Азії немає. Видання зазначає, що пекінське бюро є, але в ньому немає кореспондента, а лише продюсер-оператор.

Надалі CBS, ймовірно, висвітлюватиме події у Китаї через інші агенції.
