Тело британского принца Филиппа, умершего 9 апреля, привезут на отпевание в часовню Святого Георгия на катафалке Land Rover, который он сам проектировал 16 лет. Как информирует PRпортал, об этом пишет Reuters. 

В Букингемском дворце рассказали, что принц начал совместный проект с Land Rover в 2003-м с катафалка на базе шасси Defender TD 130.

У транспорта модифицировали заднюю часть по спецификации принца Филиппа. Автомобиль будет окрашен в темно-зеленый цвет, который используется для многих военных автомобилей  Land Rover.

Последние изменения в конструкцию принц Филипп внес в 2019 году.

«Уникальный и своеобразный силуэт этого транспортного средства напоминает миру, что принц был, прежде всего, практичным человеком, который мог взять что-то очень традиционное — будь то машина или действительно большое национальное учреждение — и найти способ своей собственной изобретательностью улучшить это, приспособить это для 20 или 21 века», — сказал премьер-министр Великобритании Борис Джонсон.
