TikTok і його китайська материнська компанія ByteDance подали позов до федерального суду США 7 травня, намагаючись заблокувати закон, підписаний президентом Джо Байденом, який передбачає продаж платформи, якою користуються 170 мільйонів американців, або заборону її використання.
Як пише «Reuters», позов подали до Апеляційного суду округу Колумбія. У ньому стверджується, що закон порушує Конституцію США з ряду причин, включаючи порушення Першої поправки щодо захисту свободи слова.
Як раніше писала Джо Байден підписав закон, яке вимагає від компанії-власника TikTok продати свою платформу для обміну відео в США, або ж їй загрожує заборона в країні. Закон дає ByteDance час до 19 січня. Проте, ця нова норма може викликати складний юридичний конфлікт у суді.
