У Бахмуті загинув американський волонтер Піт Рід, який допомагав цивільним. Про це повідомила група гуманітарної допомоги Global Response Medicine, президентом ради директорів якої він був. Вказано, що загинув він у четвер, 3 лютого.

"У січні Піт пішов із GRM, щоб працювати з Global Outreach Doctors в їхній місії в Україні, і був убитий під час надання допомоги", - йдеться у повідомленні.

Волонтер евакуював мирних жителів і надавав допомогу пораненим, коли його автомобіль швидкої допомоги обстріляли. 

"Він помер, роблячи те, у чому він чудовий, що він любив. Загинув, швидше за все, рятуючи члена команди", – пише його дружина.

Зазначено, що Піту було 33 роки, він - морський піхотинець США, який прожив життя, допомагаючи іншим.
