Відтак пʼята авеню у Гарлоу стала Пʼятою авеню — Зеленський авеню.

Посол України у Великій Британії Вадим Пристайко мав відвідати відкриття, але президент звільнив його, тому нову вулицю презентували місцеві депутати.

Зокрема, депутат Роберт Хелфон зазначив, що Гарлоу є доречним місце для вшанування українського лідера, оскільки місто побудували для лондонських переселенців після Другої світової війни.

«Нове місто Гарлоу виникло як Фенікс із попелу. Ми хотіли показати українцям, що коли вони переможуть росію, є надія, є можливість, що вони матимуть гарні нові міста», — зауважив він.

Депутат також подякував місцевим мешканцям, які допомогли поселити та підтримати майже 70 українських біженців.
